The Spring Walmart Beauty Box

A lot of people are surprised that Walmart offers a subscription beauty box. I always shop at Walmart. It's affordable, and you can literally get everything you need there. I mean, why would I go to 3 different stores, when I can get my beauty supplies, house supplies, groceries, and anything I need for my kid in the same store? And it's all very budget friendly.

Ever since I found out about Walmart's Beauty Box, I was hooked. It only cost $5 for shipping, and all the products are free. This time around I got 8 sample products. All of them were travel size or one time use. But in my first box, I got a full tube of mascara along with some other sample items. You never know what you're going to get. I love the surprise factor, but you know it will always be something you can use during that season. I'd say it's well worth it for only $5. So, let's take a look and see what was in this season's beauty box.

Gliss Hair Repair Shampoo/Conditioner

I first tried the Gliss Hair Repair, with Liquid Keratin, in Columbia. But I wasn't using it consecutively, so I didn't really see a lot of results or improvement. It's supposed to be ultra moisturizing with intense hydration and repair for dry, stressed hair. Most of the time in Columbia, I'm not doing too much damage to my hair. However, when I went to the beach for a little over a week, I took my Gliss Shampoo and Conditioner as my only source of hair care. I could definitely see my hair strength improving, and it did not feel as dry. When you're going to the beach every day and the wind, water, sand and sun are messing with your locks it can get very dry very quickly. My hair is already naturally dry, so I would definitely say that this shampoo and conditioner work when used consecutively. I don't typically use heat products anymore, because I'm extremely lazy, but I believe it would work perfect for those of you that do. Constant use of heat products causes a lot of damage to hair as well.  It also has a very refreshing sent, it's not fruity or anything like that, it's just very clean and calming.

Frizz Ease Conditioner

I didn't really see a difference with frizz, while using the Frizz Ease Moisturizer Conditioner when I was trying to keep my natural waves. You're supposed to put it on your wet hair after the shower, but I found when I did that it didn't help the frizzies at all, because I was still keeping my hair curly... which requires me to scrunch it up and not try to damage the curls. I did see in improvement when I blew dry my hair straight. There were not as many flyaways on top and I didn't have to worry about damaging the curls, because I was going for a straighter look. It doesn't necessarily replace the need for a flat iron, but does help keep straight hair looking straight!

Biore Facial Cleanser

I absolutely love this Biore Cleanser. It's a baking soda, acne scrub and it feels amazing. It's not too harsh, but you can definitely feel the exfoliation. It also has a citrus scent of tangerine or grapefruit. I don't have acne, and this is geared towards people with acne, so I can't say whether or not it will actually help with acne and blackheads. But I can say that I love the scent and light exfoliation. I leaves my skin feeling refreshed and soft. I am even thinking of switching to this product, instead of another one I've been using for years - so, that should tell you something.

Palmers Coconut Oil Mouisturizer & Oil

These Palmer's Coconut Oil products were so amazing. Usually anytime you're talking about coconut products, people recommend Palmer's. I believe there is a reason for that. They know what they're doing, and they make great products. I liked the facial lotion because I felt like it had more coverage than the oil. It also smelled more like coconut to me, and had me dreaming of tropical vacations. You could also use it as a body lotion if you wanted to. I did like the facial oil, but I think I prefer putting oil in my hair versus on my face. I do have really dry skin, so oil might be better for hydrating purposes, but I feel a little greasy with oil. With this particular oil, I didn't feel like I had enough coverage, so I had to keep putting it on. Both of these products smelled amazing, and are great go-to natural products.

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

I really like the Rimmel Stay Matte, Lightweight Liquid Mousse Foundation. I love anything that's lightweight, and doesn't feel heavy on my face. I'm not trying to cover anything up, except maybe a few of my freckles and even out my skin tone. So, I like that this isn't heavy. The moose gives it an especially light, airy feel. It definitely stays on, and I love that it's matte. I cannot stand shiny looks, especially during the summer when I'm already sweating profusely (it's usually always 90+ in Columbia, SC). Rimmel also makes a Stay Matte Pressed Powder to accompany the foundation. I'm really glad I got to try this matte foundation, because now when I'm ready to purchase another foundation, I know exactly what to get. They also have 16 shades to choose from, so there are plenty of options.

Jergens Natural Glow Lotion

Jergens Natural Glow, Wet Skin Moisturizer is so amazing. When I got this in the box, I noticed that the sample said “fair to medium skintones”. That usually means it is a tanning/enhancing product that will make your skin darker when using it consecutively. Because it doesn't specifically say “natural tanner”,  I forgot about that fact. So, I had been using this lotion right out of the shower (which is what you're supposed to do when you still have wet skin), and I forgot to wash my hands and spread the lotion onto my feet. About two weeks into using this product, my hands were turning a light orange and my legs were a different color than my feet (see pics, lol). So let me just say, this product works! If you want a gradual, sunless tanner, and very moisturized legs straight out of the shower, use this lotion! It works! I used this a few years ago and loved it back then, but they didn't have the wet skin moisturizer that everybody's doing now, which is a great bonus. It's got a nice, sweet, floral summer scent, that makes you think of the beach. Plus, it's a healthy way to get some extra color without getting any of the damage!

All in all, I think Walmart nailed it with these spring beauty products! I loved and used every single one of these products (and will continue to do so). The cool thing about Walmart's Beauty Box is that it's seasonal. So they're giving you products to use throughout the current season. And because its seasonal, you're only getting charged four times in a year. That's only $20 A YEAR (not month, like some beauty subscriptions), to try the newest and latest products. Think of it this way, you'll always have travel sizes available for vacations and trips, or you could just find a new favorite product! I think it's totally worth it!!

Have you tried one of Walmart's Beauty Boxes? What's your favorite beauty product to get at Walmart (always looking to expand my stash)? Leave me a comment below! <3 Amanda
