Things to do at Home With Your Kids

As we all adjust to our new lives for weeks or months on end at home with all our kids, I wanted to share a few good resources I’ve found for parents!

When you suddenly find yourself being a stay at home parent (or if you just need some more inspiration), here are some hacks and products to help make the transition easier - or at least bearable! These are some fun (and maybe educational) things to do at home with your kids while we’re all trying to stay healthy and away from each other during this coronavirus pandemic.

Whether you’re under the Coronavirus quarantine, social distancing or always staying home with your kids, these are some great toddler and kid activity boredom busters (save for the summer too)!

PBS Kids

PBS Kids is a great FREE resource for parents. I spent a good hour on the site looking at all the recommended videos, activities and signed up for their newsletter! It’s completely safe & perfect for littles. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Cosmic Kids Yoga

A fun and entertaining way to exercise! Join your kids and do it too (or just let them do it on their own). It’s okay if they can’t do all the moves... It gets them moving and watching something other than flippin Blippi! Just search for it on YouTube, she has different themes too!

The kids are so good at Cosmic Kids Yoga ;)

Chalk Murals

Okay, you don’t have to get quite this intense with your chalk drawings, but it’s fun and helps pass the time. I did this during the kids nap time and had them take the picture, then do their own designs. Chalk is such a fun and cheap at home activity that keeps them pretty entertained and can be done at almost any home. I just got this huge 48 piece set of chalk. I think we’ll be good for awhile. ;)

Outdoor Toys

Looking for more fun, active things to do outside with your kids? Check out this post with my top affordable outdoor toys for kids stuck at home. I shared some of our favorite outdoor toys, balance bikes, water tables, jungle gym swing play sets (all $500 and under!), play houses and sprinkler systems.

Kid’s Activity Notebooks

We made these kid’s activity notebooks during the summer! Each child gets their own notebook/notepad (ours are small because our kids are small). Get stickers, paints, trace letters, cut out magazines or add any craft supplies to the pages. You can make these educational or just plain fun!

Toddler Game Ideas

We have several of these and they are so fun! Great for rainy days, cold days, scorching hot days… a month of being on lockdown…

Hope y’all found these stay at home activities for kids and toddlers helpful! I shared all these on my Instagram stories, but I thought it would be helpful to have everything in one place to save and come back to as needed. As the days go on, I’ll keep adding to this post or make a new one based on the activities we do.

Just as a reminder, I wanted to leave this little nugget of encouragement: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
