Quick Ways To Improve The Exterior Of Your Home

Quick Ways To Improve The Exterior Of Your Home

As a busy mom, I don’t always have the time and energy to think about the exterior (or interior, to be honest) of my home.

*I was financially compensated for this post. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.*

That’s why I live by quick and easy ways to improve and keep up the outside of our home. I know that every other mom needs quick hacks to help them as well! Today, I am talking about just that. Here are a few quick ways to improve the exterior of your home:

Flowers

Flowers are relatively easy and cheap to add. Adding a few to your front yard will help your curb appeal go from 0 to 100 real quick!

If you don’t want to take the time to add flowers to your yard every year, talk with someone at your local nursery about getting flowers that will come back each year, such as lavender, azaleas or hydrangeas. I have hydrangeas and I absolutely love them!

Exterior House Cleaning

I am all about working smarter not harder #MomHackOfTheDay, and one of my hacks is to hire companies that will do a better job on tasks compared to if I did them myself.

For example, if I tried to clean my gutters, windows, or the exterior of my home myself, it would not go so well. Hiring a company for these jobs not only saves me time and effort, but the job will also get done correctly, the first time around. ZAP Cleaning does just this.

As a locally-owned and operated company, they offer a variety of exterior house cleaning options such as pressure washing, window cleaning, roof cleaning, gutter cleaning, and more. Offering exterior home cleaning services in Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, Clemson, Easley, Liberty, Travelers Rest, Piedmont, and more, they are in the business of making their customers extremely satisfied and do everything they possibly can to make this happen.

They are also great when it comes to education about the exterior of your home. For example, they educated me on why roof cleaning is so important!

They say, “Shingles may seem unimportant, but they help block UV rays and keep your home energy efficient. We use our soft wash solution to gently clean your roof as suggested by roofing manufacturers themselves. Zap Cleaning will save you money and extend your roof life by using our proven method. Zap Cleaning offers roof cleaning that removes algae in one cleaning at a fraction of the price of what it would cost to replace the roof. Roof algae not only looks bad, but it also takes years off your roof’s life by eating away at the limestone filler that is used in shingle production.” I thought that was pretty interesting!

My mom hack of the day for you, is to use companies that will help save you time, energy, money, while doing the job better than you would do it yourself. If you need home exterior cleaning services such as pressure washing, house washing, roof cleaning, and more, in the SC area, you might want to contact ZAP Cleaning for more information.

Keep A Clean Yard

Nothing has less curb appeal than a yard that is growing wild, full of weeds, and cluttered with items. If you want a very quick and easy way to improve the exterior of your home, start with lawn care!

If you get the whole family involved, it can even be fun. Pull any crazy weeds growing in the grass as well as around your mailbox or where you have plants, mow your lawn nicely and trim the edges by the street and walkway, and be sure that objects like playgrounds, lawn chairs, and other toys are tastefully placed or out of sight.

If you are placing furniture and decorations by your front door, ensure that they match and are colors that will compliment your home instead of making it look cheap and cluttered. It’s amazing how big a difference simply cleaning things up a little can make!

Entryway Decor

I am a huge fan of entryway decor! Furniture outside your front door can not only compliment your home, but it can also make it look warm and inviting.

For your front door itself, consider painting it a color that will stand out against the rest of your house. It is a cheap and easy do-it-yourself update that can make a big difference in your home’s exterior appearance!

I painted our door a bright turquoise and it’s such a bright & fun focal point!

Once your front door is a desirable color, try adding a wreath. Wreaths are not just for the holidays! There are so many different types of wreaths that can be used in all seasons to add a little flair to your home.

A good welcome mat is also something that can compliment your nicely decorated and painted door, and make visitors feel welcome.

When choosing furniture to place by your door, make sure not to overdo it! Sometimes less is more ;) My favorite options are rocking chairs and potted plants. Happy decorating!
